Exhibit Display Final Concept Full Scale Prototype

Below are the pictures of full scale prototype, presented on Feb 18 at Rm 200A.

Students work on constructing the full-scale cardboard prototype. Pieces are scattered throughout the room to be assembled upon completion.

Exhibit Display Final Concept Mock-Up

We looked over everyone's models and concepts and came to a decision for our design. We decided to try to combine two together. This is resulting in a larger model (still remaining within the 7ft max height), but every piece of the model has it's own function for the exhibit. There is little/no wasted surface space, and several planned materials for areas will be replaced with cheaper, lightweight materials for the final product.

Attached are rough concepts for our design as well as a rough model to better show our plans. In short:
  • The two ends are curved with doors that slide open into the middle, allowing books and artifacts from the time to be displayed there.
  •  The tops of the ends are slanted down with braille on it.
  • The poster area will actually be a cloth screen attached to a light weight frame while the table underneath it is wood.
  • The length and width of the cart allows for two wheelchairs to be side by side on one side, as well as wheelchairs to be on either side without hitting the other.
  • There will be additions to the top of the poster area that allows people with lower field of view to look up and read. These additions will be able to unfold down for easier storage.
  • Instead of wheelchair wheels, we are using wheels similar to shopping carts or those on the tables in the room.
